Microneedling (SkinPen)
Microneedling is a procedure that creates temporary microscopic channels in the skin with tiny needles. These channels stimulate a wound response that allows the skin to heal with increased collagen and elastin. Microneedling can treat wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, improve overall skin texture, and reduce pore size.
For best results it is recommended to undergo at least 3 treatments spaced at 4-6 week intervals. There is little downtime.
Before & After
Microneedling with PRP
Microneedling can be enhanced with the use of PRP (platelet rich plasma). A sample of the patient’s blood is spun in a centrifuge to allow for extraction of plasma, which is rich in platelets, stem cells and growth factors. The plasma is applied to the skin just prior to the procedure. The tiny channels created drive the plasma into the skin boosting new cell growth. Ultimately, the patient notices healthier, more radiant skin.
Microneedling with RF (Morpheus 8)
Morpheus 8 is a microneedling device that utilizes radiofrequency energy (heat) to stimulate collagen production and cause skin tightening. Microneedling alone improves the texture of skin but when combined with radiofrequency energy it especially improves skin laxity. For best results, a series of 3 treatments spaced monthly are recommended. There is minimal downtime of 1-3 days.
